Timothy Laurence

Vice Admiral Sir Timothy James Hamilton Laurence KCVO, CB, ADC (P) CSM (born 1 March 1955 in Camberwell London) is the second husband of Princess Anne, the daughter of the British Queen Elizabeth II is the son of Guy Stewart Laurence Alison and Barbara Laurence, born Symons.

Youth

Timothy Laurence first attended the New Beacon School, then the Sevenoaks School, both in Kent. After that he went with a Navy scholarship to the University of Durham, where he edited the student newspaper Palatinate and was captain of the cricket team. On January 1, 1973, he was promoted to midshipman on 1 January 1975 in the officer rank of Acting Sub - Lieutenant.

Career in the Navy

After completing his studies Laurence attended the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, Devon. Due to its special qualifications he turned ten months earlier than usual promoted on March 1, 1977 Lieutenant.

In the following years he served as a navigation officer briefly on the Britannia, and then on the destroyer HMS Sheffield. 1995 Laurence was promoted to captain and commander of the frigate HMS Cumberland. He then moved to the frigate HMS Montrose and took over the following year command of a flotilla of five frigates.

Marriage and Marriage
