Tinaquillo

Tinaquillo is a city in Cojedes, in Venezuela, the administrative seat of the municipality of Falcón. It was founded on 25 April 1760 the Indian village. Currently it has about 108,000 inhabitants.
History
The first inhabitants of the region were Native Americans of different tribes. Spanish friars established missions in the late 16th and early 17th century.
On June 23, 1821, the independence forces marched through Tinaquillo that would one days later participate in the Battle of Carabobo.
Policy
The mayor is one of the PSUV. He was elected in 2008 with 49.04 % of votes.
In the elections for the National Assembly, the PSUV achieved 61.80 % of the vote, while the Mesa de la Unidad 32.12 %, the regional party MOVEV Patria Para Todos 4.27% and 1.31% were given.
