Tineke Huizinga

Johanna Catharina ( Tineke ) Huizinga - Heringa ( born February 16, 1960 in Dantumadiel ) is a Dutch politician of the ChristianUnion.

Life

After her schooling Huizinga studied law at Utrecht University (no degree). In 1998 she became a member of the party Reformation Politieke Federatie (RPF ) and worked as a local politician in Heerenveen. Huizinga in 2001 became a member of the party ChristianUnion. From 23 May 2002 until 22 February 2007, she was a member of the Second Chamber of the States General, and on February 22, 2007 to February 23, 2010 Secretary of State for Transport and Water Management in the Cabinet Balkenende IV from 23 February 2010 to 14 October 2010 she was Minister of housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment in the same cabinet.

Tineke Huizinga is married and lives in Heerenveen. She is a member of the Dutch Reformed Church.
