Fourth Balkenende cabinet
The Fourth Balkenende formed of 22 February 2007 to 14 October 2010, the Government of the Netherlands. It consisted of a coalition of CDA, PvdA and ChristianUnion under Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende (CDA ). These parties had a majority after the 2006 general election. In February 2010, the cabinet broke in dispute over an extension of the Dutch military mission in the Afghan province of Uruzgan ( Task Force Uruzgan ) as part of ISAF. After long discussions on February 19 and the following night Jan Peter Balkenende announced that the government members of the Labour Party have announced their resignation, the other ministers would remain in the Cabinet of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA ) and Christian Union (CU ) but.
Composition
The Cabinet consisted of a total of 16 ministers and 11 state secretaries. According to the distribution of seats in Parliament asked the CDA 8 ministers and secretaries of state 4, the PvdA 6 Ministers and 6 Secretaries of State and the Minister ChristianUnion 2 and a Secretary of State.
