Ella Vogelaar

Catharina Pieternella ( Ella ) Vogelaar ( born December 23, 1949 in Steenbergen, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands ) is a Dutch politician of the Partij van de Arbeid ( PvdA).

Life

After his school education at the Rijks Hogere Burger School in Zierikzee she studied 1967-1972 at the Social Academy " De Horst" in Driebergen. Subsequently, she was training consultant for working-class youth in Gouda and then Deputy Director of the Education Institute for Working Youth. In addition, she studied school education at the University of Amsterdam and completed this study in 1987.

After working as a full-time board member of the General Federation for Educational Personnel (Algemene Bond voor Onderwijzend Personeel, ABOB ), the education union within the Dutch Trade Union Federation Federatie Nederlandse Vakbeweging ( FVN ), it was from 1988 to January 1994 Chairman of the ABOB. Subsequently, she was between January 1994 and June 1997 Vice- Chairman of the FVN and thus deputy Johan Stekelenburg.

In 1997, she was the process manager for the cooperation of Work and Income, Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment ( Ministerie van Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid ) and in June 2000 Project Manager of the Task Force Naturalization of the Ministry and held that office until 2002. At the same time she was from July 2000 to February 2007 independent consultant as well as from September 2000 to February 2007 Chairman of the Association of employment Company ( branchevereniging voor reïntegratiebedrijven, BoaBorea ).

Policy

As a student Vogelaar was a member of the communistic Partij van Nederland. Later she became a member of Partij van de Arbeid ( PvdA).

On 22 February 2007 she was appointed by Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende as minister without portfolio in the fourth cabinet and was responsible for the areas of housing, living and integration until 11 November 2008. She took on, among other neighborhoods, which are also known as Vogelaarwijken ever since.

The PvdA brought the Minister in November 2008 to case. Incomprehension was encountered that they had abolished the anti verwijsindex lianas, a registration of young Antillean origin, pointing in Dutch cities problematic behavior. Successor as minister Eberhard van der Laan, since July 7, 2010 Mayor of Amsterdam.

Vogelaar 's 2009 Member of the Supervisory Board of Resto VanHarte, the supervision of social Restaurants in towns since October.
