Tino Sehgal
Tino Sehgal (born 1976 in London ) is a German - British artist.
Life
Tino Sehgal was born the son of Indian living in Germany and a German mother. He spent his school years in Böblingen and Sindelfingen. He studied choreography and economics in Berlin and at the Folkwang University in Essen. He lives in Berlin.
Together with Thomas Scheibitz he designed the German Pavilion at the 51st Venice Biennale from June 12 to November 6, 2005. Instead his 30 amateur performers selected for two situations. Firstly, This is so contemporary, what was intended as a reflection on the position of art in the world today. In the second work, This is exchange, the actors engaged the visitors in discussions about the subject market economy.
Sehgal was nominated for the National Gallery Prize for Young Art 2007.
On the Documenta (13 ), which took place in Kassel in 2012, Sehgal recorded lightless Bode - room of the Grand City Hotels Hesse country.
