Tino Sehgal

Tino Sehgal (born 1976 in London ) is a German - British artist.

Life

Tino Sehgal was born the son of Indian living in Germany and a German mother. He spent his school years in Böblingen and Sindelfingen. He studied choreography and economics in Berlin and at the Folkwang University in Essen. He lives in Berlin.

Together with Thomas Scheibitz he designed the German Pavilion at the 51st Venice Biennale from June 12 to November 6, 2005. Instead his 30 amateur performers selected for two situations. Sehgal was nominated for the National Gallery Prize for Young Art 2007.
