The sports and leisure park Tivoli Stadium Tyrol, mostly short Tivoli, is an Austrian football stadium in the district of Innsbruck Pradl and part of the Sports Centre, Tivoli. The stadium is home to the football club FC Wacker Innsbruck and the American football club Swarco Raiders Tirol and is also used for concerts. In Tivoli-Neu there is also a climbing gym.

History

The Tivoli -Neu was built in the period from March 1999 to September 2000 by the architect Albert Wimmer for around 30 million euros. It replaced from the old Tyrol milk Stadium as the largest Tyrolean football stadium. The stadium providing its national games 17,400 seated and standing capacity for international games and 16,008 seats. The opening match on 8 September 2000 was won by FC Tirol by a late goal by Markus Scharrer against SK Rapid Wien 1-0.

Following the bankruptcy of the FC Tirol in 2002, the stadium was left without potential users, a problem that with the help of the foundation of the gaming community between the regional league WSG Swarovski Wattens and the newly formed FC Wacker Tirol - was solved - now FC Wacker Innsbruck.

At the 2008 European Football Championship, were held in the three games in the Tivoli -Neu, the stadium was expanded by a temporary increase in the South, North and West Stand to a capacity of 30,000 seats. The East Stand could not be removed due to a road located right behind it. So far, found at Tivoli -Neu seven matches of the Austrian national team - against Liechtenstein, Belarus, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Ivory Coast, Lithuania and Ukraine - instead, who won all this. In August 2011, FC Wacker Innsbruck Tirol concluded by advertising a sponsorship agreement, which also includes the stadium naming rights. For the next ten years, the stadium will be called " Tivoli Stadion Tirol".
