To-Mera

To- Mera is a British progressive metal band that was founded in 2005.

History

After Julie Kiss had left the Hungarian band Without Face, she founded to create gloomy and atmospheric metal music with influences from classical music and jazz, along with Lee Barrett, the band To- Mera, with the intention.

When the group was completely one published in June 2005 a first demo, which got very positive reviews and caught the attention of the record label. The resulting debut album Transcendental then appeared in September 2006 Candlelight Records and was praised for its ingenuity and the playful high skills.

After some line- up changes, the album Delusions was published in February 2008, which is the debut album stylistically very similar and also received positive feedback from the press.

Style

The Music of To- Mera is characterized by Julie Kiss' haunting voice, heavy guitar riffs and emotional lyrics. In addition, most of the songs are overly long and have a complex structure with multiple style changes. As influences, the band performs, inter alia, Symphony X, Opeth, Pain of Salvation and Dream Theater to.
