1958 moved the show to the studio 3K opposite RCA Building until it moved into a lying on the road Studio 1962. 1965 was again a move to the RCA Building, which was due to the onset of color television broadcasting (NBC could not two news studios with expensive color cameras will do ). In the following 20 years, the mission occupied different floors of NBC's headquarters, including Studio 3K in the 1970s, 8G in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and finally Studio 3B from 1983 to 1994.

In June 1994, Today moved into the present, directly beside a main road junction Studio 1A in Rockefeller Center.

During the last major renovation and redesign of the studio in the summer of 2006, the show was recorded in an outdoor studio on Rockefeller Plaza. Since the completion of the renovation work Today is produced and broadcast in HDTV ( 1080i).

1971 Ray Ellis composed a separate instrumental cover story titled This is Today. Since Ellis had his composition very closely on Day by Day of the musical Godspell, he was sued and lost. 1978, therefore, had to be changed and the theme was based on the theme music from NBC. 1982 was a new version of the theme, which was used until 1985.

1985 John Williams wrote a series of theme songs for NBC, including two for Today. One was based on The Mission, which he had created for the show NBC Nightly News, and was used until 1993, a second was called Scherzo for Today and was used until 1990.

Since then, a fanfare music is used.
