Tom Geißler
Tom Geissler ( born September 12, 1983 in Oschatz ) is a German football player.
Career
In his youth Geissler played for FSV Oschatz and VfB Leipzig. In 2000 he moved to FC Sachsen Leipzig, which he ascended into the Football Regional. During the winter break of the 2003/04 season signed him the second division Wacker Burghausen.
2005 moved Geissler for 250,000 Euros to Bundesliga 1 FSV Mainz 05 Under coach Jürgen Klopp he came to 15 appearances as a substitute - he was never in the grid. The obligation of Mimoun Azaouagh the chance fell further to get match practice in Mainz. So Geissler was borrowed for the 2006/07 season to the second division side FC Erzgebirge Aue. In May 2007 he signed a two year contract then in the Erzgebirge. He came up with 24 appearances in the 2007/ 08 season and finished with Aue at the end of season one relegation. His contract was superseded by the descent.
Then he moved to the 2008/09 season to VfL Osnabrueck and thus remained in the second division. Here, however, Geissler was unable to retrieve its full performance potential and completed just eight league games, he scored one goal in ent due to some injuries. Osnarbrück ranked at season's end the third last Tabellelplatz and had thus in the play-offs against SC Paderborn. Geissler stood at two games on the court, both games went 0-1 and lost Osnarbrück dismounted from the 2nd Bundesliga.
He left in the summer break Osnarbrück and joined the second division club TuS Koblenz. Geissler played in the 2009/10 season 23 times for Koblenz and finished with the team's second to last place in the table. He climbed for the third time in three years from the second division from.
He left Koblenz and signed at the third division RB Leipzig. For Leipzig he ran in two seasons on in 51 league games and scoring three goals. The Advised rise in the 3rd Liga was missed by a fourth and a third place respectively. After two years left Geissler Leipzig and joined the competitors of the Regional Northeast FC Carl Zeiss Jena. In Jena, he received a two-year contract. At the end of the 2012/13 season Geissler reached Jena into second place with 14 points behind RB Leipzig.
