Tomás Villalba

Tomás Villalba Albín ( born December 9, 1805 in Dolores, † July 12, 1886 Montevideo) was an Uruguayan politician.

Villalba, who belonged to the Partido Nacional, since his youth was a supporter Manuel Oribe. He accompanied this because even in the government, " del Cerrito " and was appointed military commander of Soriano. In the following years he had both the political leadership and the site of the police chief in the department of Colonia, then in Soriano and finally in Cerro Largo held. In the reign Bernardo Prudencio Berros he held the position of Minister of Finance from 1860 to 1861. A few days later, on February 20, 1865, he was replaced in that position by Venancio Flores.
