Tomasz Bobel

Tomasz Bobel ( born December 29, 1974 in Wroclaw, Lower Silesian Voivodeship ) is a Polish football goalkeeper. He graduated in his career over 160 games in the Bundesliga 2 and played two years in the Polish Ekstraklasa.

Club career

Slask Wroclaw & Fortuna Cologne until 2000

Bobel began his active career in the 1993/94 season at Slask Wroclaw. In 1995 he rose to Wrocław on in the first Polish league and could there distinguish two years. After the descent in the 1996/97 season to rise again in the following season was missed with space 3. In 1995, he came to a use in the Polish U- 21 team against Azerbaijan.

In summer 1998, he joined the German second division club SC Fortuna Köln. In the following season Bobel was preferred to Hajdu and completed 31 league games. Despite the overall good performance of Bobel ( named in two semi- annual " rankings of football," the kicker sports magazine ), the Cologne Fortuna rose from the Regionalliga end of the season. Bobel then moved up as well as his team-mate Hans Sarpei free transfer to the Bundesliga relegation MSV Duisburg.

MSV Duisburg, 2000-2003

In his three years in Duisburg failed Bobel to be first-choice goalkeeper for a long time, which was also due to numerous injuries. 2000/ 01 he was still behind the Lithuanian goalkeeper Gintaras Staučė mostly substitute goalkeeper. After the departure of Staučė Duisburg went with Bobel as goalkeeper in the season 2001 /02. Erzgebirge Aue, 2004-2008

After six months without a club, he signed a contract in early 2004 to the summer of 2005 the second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue. After he stayed in the second half 2003/ 04 even without the use he moved on 13 Matchday due to angina of goalkeeper Jörg Hahnel first time in the starting lineup and remained until the end of season Aue's main goalkeeper. Over the 2006/07 season he lost his place because of a red card on the 12th match day match against FC Carl Zeiss Jena Axel Keller and stood again in the last three games of the season in goal for the Erzgebirge. At the beginning of the season 2007/2008 Tomasz Bobel was set as the first-choice goalkeeper. A shoulder surgery in early October 2007 led to a forced break of several months.

End of March 2008, he moved back into the starting eleven. The reason was the birth of the daughter of the then Chief Keepers Axel Keller. Since Keller did not play because of the birth, it was agreed internal strife at the end of Bobel was back in goal. After the descent of the Erzgebirge in the newly created third football league he left floodplain.

Career since 2008

From January to June 2009, he played for Neftchi Baku in Azerbaijan, then he was first vertragslos. As of August 2009, he helped his former club Fortuna Cologne as Goalkeeping coach aus.Am September 13, 2009 changed Bobel due to violation of Benedict Fernandez to Bayer 04 Leverkusen. In the following two years he was one of four goalkeepers in the first Bayer team but did not play.
