Tomasz Garbowski

Tomasz Garbowski ( born January 7, 1979 in Kluczbork ) is a Polish politician, historian and member of the Sejm in the V. and VI. Election period.

He earned a degree at the Faculty of History at the University of Opole. From 2001 to 2005 he worked as assistant to the Voivode of the Opole Voivodeship. From 2002 to 2005 he was a deputy in the Parliament of the Opole Voivodeship.

In 2005 he was on the list of Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej ( Democratic Left Alliance - SLD) elected for the electoral district of Opole in the Sejm. He was a member of the Sejm Commission for Agriculture and Rural Development and the Commission on National and Ethnic Minorities.

In the 2007 parliamentary elections he won with 13,651 votes on the list of Lewica i Demokraci ( Left and Democrats LiD ) for the second time elected to the Sejm. In the VI. Election period, he is a member of Sejm committees for infrastructure, agriculture and rural development as well as for sport.

Since 22 April 2008 he is member of the Group Lewica.

Since 2004 he has been Chairman of the Opole Wojwodschaftsrats the SLD
