Tomimaru Okuni

Tomimaru Okuni (Japanese大 国 富 丸, Okuni Tomimaru; * 1931) is a Japanese amateur astronomer and retired teacher who lives in Yamagata Prefecture in Shirataka.

He is a prolific discoverer of asteroids and globally recognized. Between 1995 and 2000 he discovered at the observatory in Nan'yō (IAU code 358) in the prefecture of Yamagata total of 127 asteroids.

The asteroid ( 7769 ) Okuni was named after him.
