The Tomtabacken is 377 meters above sea level, the highest elevation of Småland, southern Sweden, the highlands and Götaland. The mountain is located in the municipality of Nässjö, about 22 km southwest of the capital. On the relatively flat summit, there is a lookout tower, with a mile-wide views over the countryside of Småland.

In January, the average temperature on Tomtabacken -4 ° C, as cold as in, for example, Dalsland or Uppland. But not only in winter the temperature is lower than the ambient, in July, the average temperature is 14 ° C - the same average temperature as in Jokkmokk in the Arctic Circle.

There are two ways to get to the Tomtabacken: walking on the trail Höglandsleden along who is away at the tower over. You can also reach by car or by Malmbäck Vrigstad. There is parking near the observation tower ( space for about five cars). Of these, one is a short distance on foot. The tower is visible from the parking lot.
