Toni Brutscher

Toni breeding shear (* November 15, 1925 in Oberstdorf, † November 16, 1983 ) was a German ski jumper and musician.

Career

Breeding shear was drafted as a seventeen year old for military service in 1943 and 1944 suffered a serious war injury that would have ended his career almost early. It was assumed that he would be paralyzed, thus breeding shear, however, unable to accept. Already in 1946 he jumped back from the Schattenbergschanze.

1949 brood shear was involved together with Heini Klopfer, Sepp Weiler and Max Bolkart the construction of the ski jump in Oberstdorf.

In the same year breeding shear won the German championship, he could repeat in 1955 for the first time. At the 1952 Olympics in Oslo, he finished 4th place. In the Four Hills Tournament In 1953 he was named after a third place in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, a seventh place in Oberstdorf and Innsbruck and a 12th place in Bischofshofen finished fourth overall. It should be the best finish of the tour during his active career. A year later, at the Four Hills Tournament 1953/54, a podium he never had. In addition, he did not start in Innsbruck. Best individual result were two ninth places in Oberstdorf and Garmisch. Also in 1954/55 he was beaten to the heavy competition. Only the Four Hills Tournament 1955/56, he could at least temporarily achieve significantly better results. He was fifth in Oberstdorf.

For the next 1956 Olympic Games in Cortina d' Ampezzo breeding shear was qualified, but was unable to attend because of illness. In the Four Hills Tournament 1956/57 breeding shear reached in Oberstdorf third place, but broke the tour to rank 40 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen from. The end of 1957 he started again in Oberstdorf, but did not get beyond üer rank 56. This was his last tour jumping.

1960 brood shear officially resigned and ended his career with a jump of the ski flying hill in Oberstdorf 1961.

Brutscher died one day after his 58th birthday, after a long illness in his home Oberstdorf.

Music

Toni was known breeding shear in the 1950s by the Toni breeding shear Trio, with whom he recorded as a player of the accordion, the LP Around the Foghorn. Together with the Trettach Trio Toni breeding shear Trio is one of the pioneers of the Allgäu trio music.

Awards

1952 gave the Federal President Theodor Heuss Brutscher the Silver Laurel Leaf.
