Tonje Kjærgaard

Tonje Kjærgaard ( born June 11, 1975 in Silkeborg ) is a former Danish handball player.

Career

Kjærgaard was 17 years her debut in the women's team of Ikast - bording EH, where she remained faithful until her career in late 2004. In desem period, the district runner celebrated a championship, three national cup successes as well as three European Cup wins. At the beginning of the season 2007/08 Kjærgaard grazed again for six games the jersey of Ikast - bording EH, which it had injury waive Isabel Blanco. After her career she became a teacher; she teaches biology at a high school in Ikast.

Kjærgaard played 139 matches for the Danish women's handball national team, in which they scored 342 hits. With Denmark in 1996 and 2000 she won the gold medal at the Olympics, 1997 World Cup and the European Championship in 1994 and 1996.
