Tõnu Trubetsky

Tõnu Trubetsky ( born April 24, 1963 in Tallinn, Estonian SSR, Tony Blackplait ) is an Estonian punk rock singer and anarchist.

Career

Trubetsky came in 1963 as the eldest son of the famous as Bajanspieler Jaan Trubetsky and his wife Leili Rikk in belonging to the Soviet Union Tallinn to the world. There he attended school and chose the focus of training theater classes. After his graduation in 1982, he served in the Soviet Army.

His musical career began in 1977 with his friend anti Pathique, a punk rock guitarist. In addition, he worked as a session musician and wrote their own songs, which he worked with Teet Tibar to demo recordings. After his discharge from military service in 1984 he founded the punk band Vennaskond which still exists and during the 1980s was one of the leading punk bands in Estonia. Besides, he also sang still with some other punk bands such as Felis Ultramarinus, Vürst Trubetsky & JMKE, The Un Concer and The Flowers of Romance. In Operatsioon Õ in 1995 he was active as a guitarist.

Because of their anarchist group Vennaskond body of thought which has been exposed in the Soviet Union reprisals. Early 1991 had Tõnu Trubetsky flee together with the other members of Vennaskond to Finland and returned only with regaining of Estonian independence back home. During this absence, the first album of Vennaskond appeared.

Trubetsky worked after his return to Tallinn as a guard at the production company ETKVL Kooperaator than him 1992, the Finnish director Pekka Karjalainen offered to act in the film Hysteria, which was awarded, among others, with a Jussi award. Trubetsky sang in the movie, the song " My Love Riga ".

He also writes articles for music magazines, including " Interview with Suzi Quatro " in Hommikuleht and " Who Killed Sid Vicious? " In Muusik. He writes poems and co-author with anti Pathique published several science fiction novels.

Since 1992 Trubetsky is a member of Amnesty International and since 1995 at the Maavalla Anarhistlik Liit, an Estonian anarchist association. In the parliamentary election in 2007 and at the 2009 European election he was a candidate of the Estonian countryside. In August 2010 he became a member of the Estonian Centre Party, but he left again in the same year, after he felt harassed and threatened.
