Tony Carey

Lawrence Anthony "Tony" Carey ( born October 16, 1953 in Watsonville, California) is an American rock musician.

Life

As a keyboardist Carey resigned in 1975 in Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow international recognition. 1977 Carey left the band and then took in Germany, where the first two Rainbow albums had been produced already, some solo albums. Later, he was mainly in German-speaking countries through its collaboration with Peter Maffay known ( Tabaluga and the shining silence, Long Shadows, soundtracks for The Joker and Caught in Yemen).

In addition to his solo albums, Carey published in 1983 and 1984 under the name Planet P Project two progressive rock albums. In Germany he gained great notoriety in 1988 by including the ARD three-piece Wild West song used Room with a View. In 1989, he composed for the crime drama television series Tatort the piece I Feel Good ( episode 225: Kathy's silence).

In 2003, he was after a long absence from the stage again some concerts. With the CD, published in 2004 1931 - Go Out Dancing, Part 1 and the Planet P Project found after 20 years of a sequel.

From January to June 2009 was Carey member of the band Over the Rainbow. In 2009 he founded together with ELA and Jürgen R. Blackmore, son of Ritchie Blackmore, the formation EBC ROXX. Was released in 2010 the album Winners. In the same year he published with Zed Yago Album Pirates from Hell and performed with the band on at summer festivals.

Carey also worked as a producer, including for Pat Travers, The Force, Bo Katzman, The Pinups, Caro, Geff Harrison, Peter Maffay, Debbie Bonham, Jennifer Rush, Max Carl, Natacha, Ina Morgan, Milva, Joe Cocker, John Mayall, Anne Haigis, Justine Johns, Chris Norman and David Knopfler.

He lives with his family in Villages.
