Too Fast for Love is the debut album by American rock band Mötley Crüe, which although never had a resounding success, but still received good sales due to the good sales of other boards like Dr. Feelgood. It was released on 10 November 1981.
History
Nikki Sixx wanted to start his own band and separated from his band London. He found in Tommy Lee not only a drummer, but also a friend and companion for the next few years. Finally they met by newspaper advertisement to the guitarist Mick Mars. As an ex- bandmate of Mars, the two boys as a " motley crew " ( Motley Crew ) designated, called the band Mötley Crüe. As one with the band Rock Candy actually was looking for a rhythm guitarist, you bumped into the singer Vince Neil and decided to stop any further guitarists. Since Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee had already made a name with former bands in LA, it was not long until the band got a record deal with Leathür Records. Since this was a small record label, the band had the album mostly self- produce, etc. It came in the first year of the band, in 1981, on the market, but it was already after one year were revised again published ( Elektra Records).
Style
The album is unlike other albums Crüe slightly punk -heavy, what is that Punk was very popular at this time. In addition, the texts are not treated as in later albums events in the life of the Crüe, but were still well thought out lyrics. Cover
The cover is a tribute to the album Sticky Fingers by the Rolling Stones.
It shows the upper part of a glam rock standard leather pants with a leather belt (which is embroidered with a lot of metal ) and hands with gloves on one side and many iron bracelets on the other hand
Sticky Fingers has a similar picture, but with an older pants.
Success
In the charts this album could hardly achieve success, but it sold with the increasing the fan base further. Despite the poor chart place of No. 77 it reached platinum status, which barely managed another album.
Reviews
Despite the low sales figures, it is still often referred to by critics as an important album. Metal Rules recorded it as 31 best heavy metal album of all time.
