Tooma Dam

Tooma Reservoir is a reservoir on the Tooma River, a tributary of the Murray River in New South Wales, Australia. The dam was completed in 1961 and is part of the Snowy Mountains Hydro -Systems, 21 km from Khancoban and 95 km from Thredbo ski resort in the Snowy Mountains.

Tourist information

In reservoir are trout, like the rainbow trout and brown trout can be fished without special permission by boat. There is a boat ramp, however, must be observed when boating, that the water level of the reservoir can change quickly. The reservoir is connected through the 14.3 km long Tooma - Tumut tunnel with a diameter of 3.7 m in the Snowy Mountains Hydro - system, which is flooded when necessary.

Camping is at Clover Flat Camping Ground possible, own drinking water must be brought. The nearest place Khancoban are a tourism park, hotels and motels.
