Tor Singsaas

Goal Singsaas ( born 1 February 1948 in Hølonda, Norway) is a Norwegian, Lutheran Bishop of the Church of Norway.

Life

Singsaas studied until 1977 at the Theological College ( Menighetsfakultetet ) in Oslo. On 8 January 1978, he was ordained pastor. He then worked from 1978 to 1991 as a pin chaplain in the Diocese of Nidaros from 1991 to 2004 as a chaplain at the Nidaros Cathedral. Then he served as provost, the provost Byåsen in Trondheim.

Singsaas is was appointed in July 2008 to the bishop in the Diocese of Nidaros and consecrated on 14 December 2008.

In the period 2012-2015 he chairs the board of the Norwegian Bible Society (Det norske Bibelselskapet ).
