Fournier Torenie ( Torenia fournieri )

The Fournier - Torenie ( Torenia fournieri ) is a species of the genus Torenia.

Features

The Fournier - Torenie is an annual plant that reaches the stature heights of 20 to 30 centimeters. The stem is erect - ascending and square. The leaves are stalked, cut triangular- lanceolate and sharp. The flowers are two-lipped, the upper lip is split and the lower lip three parts. The corolla tube is yellow at the base, otherwise blue, red or white with yellow spot on the lower lip.

The flowering period extends from July to September.

Occurrence

The Fournier - Torenie occurs in forests of South Vietnam.

Use

The Fournier - Torenie scattered used as an ornamental plant for balconies, discounts and Planters. It is in culture at least since 1876. There are varieties with different flower colors.
