Torgelower See

The Torgelower lake lies in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ) and is located at the junction of the hilly moraine landscape in a flatter ground moraine. The area southwest of the lake reaches a height of almost 90 meters above mean sea level. To the west of the lake the eponymous place Torgelow am See. Here is located on the lake shore with the mansion Torgelow with park and terrace overlooking the lake. In the north, far from the shore is large Gievitz and in the east the small settlement Minenhof. The lake has a length of approximately 3.1 kilometers and a width of 1.6 kilometers. The lake is a little broken in an oval shape. In the northern part are the love island and another small island. Both are covered with deciduous forest. The Ostpeene flows through the lake from south to north. The creek flows near Gorbäck Torgelow into the water.

The lake is part of the Protected Landscape Area Torgelower lake. Managed is especially the glacial landscape dominated by the Torgelower lake, which is like a park interspersed with ancient oaks and beeches here.
