Tortilia trigonella

Tortilia trigonella is a butterfly of the family of Stathmopodidae.

Features

The moths reach a wingspan of 9 mm. T. trigonella differs from Tortilia flavella by a brown costal spot at the wing base of the front wings and the pale yellow base segment of the sensor. The underside of the forewing brown drawing shows the same as the upper wing surface, but is significantly weaker. In the females the genitalia are similar to those of Tortilia graeca, they are distinguished by the much smaller Signum and a long and a short row of spikes on the corpus bursae. The genitalia of the males have not been described.

Dissemination

Tortilia trigonella comes in Morocco southwest of Marrakech, in the Great Atlas in Goundafa and the Middle Atlas to Azrou before.

Biology

The biology of the species is unknown. The moths were caught in June.

System

The type locality is located southwest of Marrakech in Morocco ( Ijjoukak ).
