TortoiseGit

TortoiseGit is a free graphical user interface for version control software Git on Windows. It is under the GNU General Public License ( GPL).

TortoiseGit is implemented as a shell extension, it integrates in the Windows Explorer and is therefore independent of an Integrated Development Environment ( IDE) used.

As a core task the version, revision and source control is described for the software. TortoiseGit is based on TortoiseSVN and has been extended to Git - specific aspects.

Prerequisite for the use of TortoiseGit is msysgit ( Windows version of Git).
