Tõrvajõe is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Vaivara ( Vaivara vald ). It is located in Ida -Viru county (East Wierland ) in northeastern Estonia.

Description and History

The village has 31 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2012). It lies on the highway between the Estonian capital Tallinn and the Russian metropolis of Saint Petersburg.

The place was first mentioned in documents in 1428.

Through him, the 16 km long stream Tõrvajõgi, which flows into the River Narva ( Narva Jõgi ) flows.

Popular with nature lovers is the Tõrvajõe Waterfall ( Tõrvajõe juga ). The creek runs about two and a half feet deep over a length of five to six meters. In some summers, the natural spectacle is omitted due to lack of water.
