Tours Volley -Ball, short- Tours VB, is a French volleyball club, play the men of the first French League (Pro A).
History
Tours VB is a relatively young volleyball club. He emerged from the Tours Étudiant Club in 1988. After a few years in the minor leagues, the club was able in 1993 in the National 1B (now Pro B ), the second highest French league ascend. Just one year later, was a master of this class and got into the National 1A (Pro A). There, however, it took several years to adapt to the high level of the league.
In 2000 Tours VB was finally in the final of the French Cup, but had to clear with 0:3 then the best French club Paris Volley defeated. With the same result, the Cup final ended a year later. In the Champions League they even reached the Final Four, eventually finished in third place before Iraklis Saloniki. The following year in 2005 so far was the highlight in the club's history: Tours won the French Cup, the Super Cup and the Champions League. Only in the championship had to get the AS Cannes beaten. In the Champions League final they met again on Iraklis Saloniki, were the hosts of the Final Four. The match ended 3:1 ( -21, 29, 17, 23). Previously Tours had thrown in the semifinals VfB Friedrichshafen from the competition. In 2007, the team achieved a second place in the final of the Champions League against VfB Friedrichshafen.
National League and Cup
Tours won his title after the turn of the millennium. From 2003 to 2012 it was three times champions and Cup winners six times. The second cup win there was also success in the Supercup.
European Cup
The overall winner of 2005 played in the 2006/07 season back in the Champions League.
