AS Cannes Volley-Ball

AS Cannes Volley -Ball is a French men's volleyball club from Cannes. He is currently playing in the Pro A, the highest French league.

History

The French vice- record champions began its success story at the beginning of the 1980s. After the three league titles from 1981 to 1983 the club was able to quickly celebrate great success internationally. In 1983 you could reach second place in the Champions League, losing only the final against the then VK series winner CSKA Moscow. In 1981 you could see the inaugural CEV Cup, the small European Cup win - so far the only team in France. In subsequent years, however, for the time being could not connect to the great success of these three years. You had to content himself with the champion title in 1986 and the Cup victory in 1985, which was introduced a year earlier.

At the beginning of the 1990s, the AS Cannes was back to the old international strength. 1990 to 1995 was followed by four more championship wins and two cup wins. International celebrated primarily in the Europe Cup Winners' Cup success. 1993 had to be only in the finale Mediolanum Milan admit defeat, a year later they finished third. After these successes, longer untitled time was established. Paris UC began to dominate the French volleyball. Curiously, we use the single national title the next ten years - the Cup victory in 1998 - the biggest club success at international level. As the first French team could triumph of 1999 on the Italian club Alpitour Traco Cuneo in the final of the Cup Winners' Cup.

At present, the AC Cannes is one of the leading forces in the French men volleyball. In the 2005 season, you could refer the reigning Champions League winners Tours VB to second place in the championship.
