Tove Styrke

Tove Styrke ( born November 19, 1992, Umeå, full name: Anna Tove Östman Linnéa Styrke ) is a Swedish pop singer and songwriter. It became known as third place of the seventh season of the Swedish Idol talent show.

2011 listed the New York Post Styrke as one of ten Artists To Know In 2011.

Biography

Family / private life

Tove Styrke is the daughter of the Swedish musician Anders Östman. This runs a music store, and put his daughter the guitar as an instrument before. However Styrke preferred the piano, for which they had been encouraged by her piano teacher, her grandfather. Her mother Anna, a former ballet dancer, director of a dance school, and sent Styrke days of childhood to dance lessons. Styrke has two sisters, one older and one younger.

Her first performances as a singer had Styrke a local jazz band.

Career

Styrke participated in the sixth season of the talent show some idol that she finished as third place. Already there singing their cover reached the middle of the Swedish charts. Shortly after the end of the show she was taken by Sony under contract. Styrke then took time to write songs for their first album. Then they released their first single, " Million Pieces ", which was written by Adam Olenius ( Shout Out Louds ) & Lykke Li in June 2010. On November 12, '10 appeared Styrkes debut album Tove Styrke, which reached the top ranks of the charts, and there owned 35 weeks.

The published in August '11 single " Call My Name " served as the theme song for the talent show The perfect model, which was broadcast by the station Vox in early 2012. " Call My Name " is not included on the original release of Styrkes debut album, but the album was on 23 March 2012 in Germany with " Call My Name " and another new track, " Sticks And Stones " published.

Music style

Styrkes music is a mix of pop and electro pop. Allmusic describes their music as a combination of "the bubbling electronica of Robyn with the hipster synth pop of Annie and the hook -laden Euro - disco of September. " Styrke writes almost all their songs themselves
