Townley (crater)

Townley is an impact crater on the lunar front side, northwest of Mare Spumans, southeast of the crater Apollonius and south of Firmicus. The rim is eroded, the crater floor flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1976 after the American astronomer Sidney Dean Townley.
