Track & Field (video game)

Hyper Olympic is an arcade game and the founder of the genre game sports ( athletics). It was developed in 1983 by Konami and was released in the United States Track & Field. It was extremely popular and has been implemented for many home computer.

Control

It can compete against each other up to four players. Normally played alternately, play in running disciplines two simultaneously.

For running two buttons must be pressed in rapid succession. With a third button can be thrown or jumped. To be able to run faster were often aids, such as using a lighter that was rubbed over the buttons. At home computers the spacebar or a round- Herrütteln the joystick is often responsible for running. Thus, there was often a wear of the keys or the joystick. The game is a typical "Button Masher ".

Music

The music was written by Shigeru Fukutake; the final title is called Chariots of Fire by Vangelis and dates. Said piece of music is the theme song of the eponymous film ( German: Chariots of Fire ), was awarded in 1982 for his film music Vangelis the Academy Award.

The individual results will be announced in the arcade version by a female voice.
