Trakovice
Trakovice ( Tarkowitz German, Hungarian Karkóc ) is a municipality in western Slovakia, with 1479 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Hlohovec, a part of the Trnavský kraj.
Geography
The municipality is located in the hill country Trnavská pahorkatina (part of the Slovak Danube lowland ) on the river Dudváh. The center is located at an altitude of 150 m nm and is eight kilometers west Hlohovecký and situated 12 km north-east of Trnava.
History
Trakovice was first mentioned in 1275 as Korkouch writing and belonged to various noble families.
