History of the predecessor companies

The former Montreux- Glion - Rochers - Montreux -de- Naye train ( MTGN ) operated the train from Montreux, Glion to the Rochers de Naye and the funicular from Montreux to Glion. The company was formed in 1992 from the merger of the funicular Montreux - Glion (TG ) and Montreux- Glion - Rochers -de- Naye train ( MGN ). The Montreux- Glion - Rochers -de- Naye train itself was created in 1987 from the merger of Montreux- Glion -Bahn ( MGl ) with the Glion - Rochers -de- Naye Railway ( GN).

The Glion - Rochers -de- Naye train Built in 1892, a train from Glion up to the Rochers de Naye. This began in Glion, the end of the funicular from Montreux. The track has a track width of 800 mm and is equipped with the gear system abbot. With a length of 7.7 kilometers, a height difference of almost 1300 meters is overcome. 1938, the electrical equipment was added, which allowed the passage of newly purchased railcars from Montreux.

To achieve better connectivity of Glion - Rochers -de- Naye train to Montreux, a 2.8 km long cog railway from Montreux to Glion was built with the Montreux- Glion -Bahn, which was opened in 1909. It is built according to the same standard as the Glion - Rochers Alien -de- Naye train, allowing through trains from Montreux up to the summit. Because the former Jura -Simplon -Bahn (JS) at the Montreux train station had agreed to provide the Montreux- Glion -Bahn no place, the company bought the hotel directly at the train station to demolish it and rebuild it with a separate station for the cog railway.

The Montreux- Glion -Bahn was operated electrically from the beginning. In Glion gave the electrical Zahnradlokomotiven HGe 2/2 of the MGl Vorstellwagen the steam locomotives of the Glion - Rochers -de- Naye train. Since the electrification of the Glion - Rochers -de- Naye railway in 1938 it belonged to the past.

Funicular Montreux - Glion

The funicular Montreux - Glion, abbreviated TG, French funicular Montreux - Glion, is an up from Montreux on Lake Geneva, leading to Glion funicular. She was at its opening in 1883 with a slope of 57 percent, the steepest funicular railway in the world and was until 1909 the most important feeder for the cog railway to Rochers de Naye. With a length of 630 meters, it overcomes a height difference of 298 meters. The funicular Montreux - Glion was originally a water ballast train.

After extensive renovation and restoration work, combined with a longer interruption of operations, runs the web since 1975 with new funicular cars automatically with a modern electric drive. One of the two original funicular car was placed at the base station as a reminder of the originally using water ballast funicular.

After another extensive modernization, coupled with a shorter interruption of operation, the train was again passed on 9 October 2009 with the new intermediate stop Collonge- Funi circulation. The two revised and supplemented with an emergency exit funicular cars now have the new gold and white colors of the Gold Pass group, instead of the original red color.

Funicular Les Avants - Sonloup

The funicular Les Avants - Sonloup, abbreviated LAS, French funicular Les Avants - Sonloup, officially Chemin de fer Les Avants - Sonloup built and operates the cable car of Les Avants up to Sonloup, which was opened in 1910. With a length of 530 meters, it overcomes a height difference of 180 meters. The valley station of Les Avants is located close to the railway station of the same name in 1901 opened the Montreux-Bernese Oberland Railway.

Funicular Vevey- Chardonne Mont Pelerin

The funicular Vevey- Chardonne -Mont Pelerin, abbreviated as VCP, French funicular Vevey- Chardonne Mont Pelerin built the funicular from Vevey on Chardonne up to the Mont Pelerin which was opened in 1900. She has a track length of 1580 meters and overcomes a difference in altitude of 415 meters. In addition to the valley and mountain station she still has three intermediate stops.

The funicular was re- opened on September 25, 2009 after a lengthy modernization, with the two funicular cars were given a new structure.
