Trashiyangtse District

Trashiyangtse ( གཡང་ཙེ ) is situated in the northeast of the Kingdom of Bhutan district. The capital is the city of Trashiyangtse. The district covers an area of 1,459 km ². 19,069 people live in it, in 3,294 households in 117 villages. The area is very mountainous, the lowest point in the district is located at about 1,000 m above sea level, the highest at about 5,400 m.

Until 1992 the area of Trashiyangtse to Trashigang district belonged, until it was converted into an independent district.

Trashiyangtse is divided into eight Gewogs:
