Trawniki
Trawniki is a village located in the Lublin Voivodeship, Poland. It is also the seat of the municipality of the same country. Trawniki part of the powiat ( county ) Świdnicki.

Geography
Trawniki is located about 32 km south-east of Lublin in the Dorohucza lowlands along the river Wieprz and the confluence with the Gielczew.
History
The forced labor camp Trawniki was established in 1941 by the SS in an old sugar factory. In October 1943, the forced labor camp was closed and shot the approximately 6,000 inmates.
1954, the United granary was put into operation. In the 1960s the castle was demolished.
From 1975 to 1998 belonged to the Trawniki Lublin Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 ).

The municipality covers an area of 84.16 km ², of which 85 % is used for agriculture. 7% of the area is forested.

To Gmina Trawniki include 11 Sołectwos ( Soltysships ): Biskupice, Bonow, Dorohucza, Ewopole, Oleśniki, Pełczyn, Siostrzytów, Struża, Struża - Kolonia, and Trawniki Trawniki Kolonia.
Traffic
Through the community's Droga Krajowa run 12, the voivodship roads ( Droga wojewódzka ) 829 and 838 and the railway line from Warsaw to Lviv ( Ukraine).
