Treixadura

Trajadura is a white grape variety which is grown mainly in Portugal. It is recommended in the Douro and Minho regions of cultivation. Admitted she is also in the region of Beira Litoral. The area under vines in Portugal is about 1,169 hectares. In Galicia is known in the growing area Rías Baixas under the name Treixadura. The vineyards there is approximately 205 acres.

The grew strong Trajadura are only minor yields per hectare and the berries are susceptible to the raw rot. The late maturing variety produces fragrant, full-bodied and high alcohol wines. In Vinho Verde is one of the approved varieties. It is often blended with the varieties Loureiro and Alvarinho. In Spain also the liqueur wines Tosdadillos and Tostados del Rivero forth from her.
