Yellow Gold Quaking Ling ( Tremella mesenteric )

The dither Ling -like ( Tremellales ) are an order of Tremellomycetes. They live on dead or dying twigs and branches of various tree species. Previously, the associated species were classified according to their longitudinal septate basidia to the now obsolete class of Phragmobasidiomycetes or Heterobasidiomycetes.

In Central Europe, there are about 200 species of fungi belonging to this order.

Description

The dither -like Ling can shrink when dry and swell when wet strong again. The fruiting bodies are gelatinous in the swollen state. The basidia are septate along.
