Tremolo is an EP by My Bloody Valentine. It was published in February 1991 by Creation Records. The title refers to the heavy use of guitar tremolo and vibrato effects to create the blurry, dream -like sound of the band. Kevin Shields ' way of playing the chords to " strum " to the same Tremolo / Whammy pedal to use his guitar was called "glide guitar".
Style
The title track, " To Here Knows When", has a longer and ätheraleres coda - which is actually an original song - mind than the version of " To Here Knows When", which can be found on the Loveless album. " Swallow" also has an instrumental coda; "Honey Power" has a wordless, consisting of " ooh " and " aah " vocals coda. All three end pieces of the songs include backwards played guitar loops and strong Hall. In November 1991, Kevin Shields commented:
" Tremolo had seven tracks on it, but you're not allowed to do that, so we called it four tracks and did not name three of them. People just thought theywere weird bits! "
" Tremolo has seven tracks on it, but you must not do, so we said, there are four titles and three of them have simply given a name. People thought merely that these are so funny Ambient shreds. "
The cover photo, the blurred woman's face, was also one of the most popular motifs for My Bloody Valentine Fan T -shirts.
For the title of " Swallow" and " To Here Knows When" music videos were shot by Angus Cameron.
Reception
The professional music critic Robert Christgau gave the EP the note A (ie, 1 -). In the allmusic album received 4.5 / 5 points and so wrote Nitsuh Abebe:
" The title will appear as missing parts of the complete Loveless experience. And the band after their insanely long radio silence as a masterpiece of album nachlegte! Everything else that fans can get their hands on, probably justifies the somewhat high price of this EP. "
