Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol provincial elections, 2013#South Tyrol

The South Tyrolean Landtag election in 2013 was held on 27 October 2013. Were elected 35 delegates to the South Tyrolean Landtag. The turnout was 79.7 percent.

On the same day the election to Parliament of Trentino took place. South Tyrol and Trentino parliament together form the comprehensive 70 mandates Regional Trentino -Alto Adige.

Historical Significance

In the South Tyrolean Landtag election in 2013 the South Tyrolean People's Party since 1948, lost for the first time the absolute majority of seats, but remained 45.7 percent of voters consensus the relatively strongest party in parliament. The regional opposition parties, the Freedom Party, Verdi Green Editions and South Tyrolean freedom have ever been able to win a seat in comparison to the state elections of 2008. General government parties of the center- right camp ( Lega Nord, Popolo della Libertà, Unitalia ) were the big losers in the election.
