Trepat

The trepat or Trepadell is an indigenous red grape variety of the wine -growing region Conca de Barberà in Catalonia (Spain).

The vines of trepat are elongated and very dense, the grapes large, plump and sweet. Bud mature early and late ( late September to early October), can not tolerate drought and are quite sensitive to frost. Its yield is medium tall with 8,000 to 12,000 kg / ha.

The wine of this grape is fresh due to the relatively high acidity, light and fruity, with a little specific aroma and a moderately high alcohol content ( 10-11.5 % by volume). It is used mainly for the production of rosé or sparkling wine Cava.
