Active reactors ( gross ):

Set planning ( gross ):

The nuclear power plant is Trillo Trillo, Guadalajara in Spain. It consists of an in-service reactor unit. Owner is the ENDESA, the operator centrals Almaraz - Trillo Nucleares.

It is owned by four leading Spanish energy company Iberdrola with a share of 48 %; Unión Fenosa with 34.5 %; Hidroeléctrica del Cantábrico with 15.5 % and Nuclenor with 2%.

History

The Trillo nuclear power plant consists of a pressurized water reactor in operation by the German Kraftwerk Union. This has a thermal power of 3010 MW, a net electric power of 1003 MW and a gross capacity of 1066 MW. Construction of the reactor block was on 17 August 1979. On 14 May 1988, the reactor was first critical first synchronized on 23 May 1988 with the electricity grid and took on 6 August 1988 on commercial operation. The reactor has three cycles and fuel in the 16x16 design.

There were plans for a second reactor block in Trillo, a pressurized water reactor with a net electrical output of 950 MW and a gross capacity of 1000 MWe. After a change of government, the plan for Trillo 2, 1 April 1984 was discarded.

Fuel

The operator centrals Almaraz - Trillo AIE Nucleares receives nuclear fuel from Areva. On August 3, 2009, a contract was signed, which is valid for six years from 2010 and includes the delivery of approximately 240 fuel assemblies. Since the commissioning of about 1100 fuel elements were supplied by Areva so far.
