Trimedoximbromid is an antidote against poisoning with organophosphates. In a study in rats, in which intoxication were made with 26 different organophosphates, Trimedoxim pointed in comparison with obidoxime and pralidoxime on the best antidote action. An oxime was effective when the administration prevented the death of at least half of the animals. Trimedoxim proved ineffective against seven organophosphate ( trichlorfon, demeton -S -methyl, Pyridafenthion, pirimiphos -methyl, azinphos-methyl, Dialifos, dimethoate ), while obidoxime against ten and pralidoxime was ineffective against 14.
