Trindade station

The Porto Trindade station is a former station of several narrow gauge lines in the Portuenser city, today it serves as a stop for the Metro do Porto. There intersect all six lines (AF ) of the light rail opened in 2002.

The route of the original narrow gauge railway is now traversed by the metro lines A, B, C, E, and F. The features of these lines stop at the two drive-through tracks at the surface in the newly built, designed by the Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura station building. In the above-ground part there is an additional dead-end track. From this part above ground short pedestrian tunnel leading to the two underground side platforms of the line D. The design is relatively simple held in exposed concrete and glass. Outside the building there is a bus stop and not far from the connecting tunnel between the routes of line D and the lines A, B, C, E and F.

Prior to the use of the station by the current light rail Trindade was the central railway station for the narrow gauge traffic to Póvoa de Varzim and Trofa. In Trindade began in July 2000, the construction of the tunnel the line D subway.

Trindade is the most used station Metro do Porto, here in 2004 14.8% of the tickets have been resolved. Before the opening of the stations Bolhão and Estadio do Dragão, the proportion was even higher at 23.7%.
