Trinity Sunday

Trinity (Latin, genitive of trinitas, Trinity ', also Golden Sunday or Frommtag ) is the Trinity Festival ( also Trinity festival) on the first Sunday after Pentecost.

The festival, which emerged around the first turn of the millennium at the Benedictine monasteries in France, in 1334 by Pope John XXII was. introduced into the Roman calendar and the worship of the Holy Trinity is dedicated to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

It is also the beginning of the second half of the church year without any major festivals such as Christmas and Easter. The Sundays of Trinity until the end of the church year are counted in the Protestant Church as " umpteenth Sunday after Trinity ." The Catholic Church, however, counted up to the liturgical reform after the Second Vatican Council this Sunday as " x -th Sunday after Pentecost"; since they are counted as " Sundays in Ordinary Time ", which includes not only the time after Trinity now Sundays between Christmas and the Easter festival circuit include. The festival commemorates the Trinitarian creeds ( Apostolic, Nicene Creed and athanasianisches ).
