Tristan Honsinger

Tristan Honsinger (born 23 October 1949 in Burlington, Vermont) is an American free jazz cellist.

Honsinger studied at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and went in 1969 to Montreal. In 1974 he moved to Amsterdam, where he has since been involved in the ICP Orchestra drummer Han Bennink and pianist Misha Mengelberg. He also worked with Derek Bailey, Steve Lacy, Alexander Schlippenbach, Lol Coxhill, Louis Moholo and singer Mola Sylla. He was next to Harri Sjöström and Paul Lovens member of Cecil Taylor Ensemble.

Since 1978 he has lived for several years in Florence, where he (you Improvisazione Nuovo Consonanza Gruppo ) and worked with Giancarlo Gianluigi Trovesi Schiaffini.
