Tronchetto, rarely Isola Nuova, is an artificial island in the Venetian Lagoon, which is located in the west of the city is the Santa Croce district belonging. It is separated by 60 to 180 meters wide Canale Tronchetto from Piazzale Tronchetto. Through reclamation and landfills, the island has reached a length of 690 m and a maximum width of 220 m.
