Trough of Bowland

The road over the Trough of Bowland

K

The Trough of Bowland ( German: Trough of Bowland ) is a pass in the Forest of Bowland in Lancashire, England. Until 1974, the border between Lancashire and the West Riding of Yorkshire was over the pass.

The passport with a height of 295 m is located on the connecting road from Lancaster to Clitheroe. Whilst it is only the pass, which is bounded to the west by Winfold fur and on the east by Blaze Moss, as Trough of Bowland call, but is often more broadly for tourist purposes the term. Thus, a section of road between Dunsop Bridge and Abbeystead with the Trough of Bowland is associated.
