Truckee is a city in Nevada County in the U.S. state of California, United States, with 15,200 inhabitants ( 2004). The metropolitan area has a size of 87.7 km ². It was founded in 1863 as a railroad town. My name comes from the eponymous river. A special attraction is the " Hotel Truckee ", which has existed for 125 years. The U.S. skier Travis Ganong and Marco Sullivan are from Truckee.
