Trumbo Point

Trumbo Point is a part of the city of Key West in the northwest corner of the island of Key West in the lower Florida Keys. It is one of several bases of the Key West Naval Air Station. For civilians without access authorization of the U.S. Navy access to Trumbo Point is prohibited.

The military base was originally a Bais for seaplanes, and later used as a base for helicopters. Today it is used primarily as a residential area for Militätpersonal and is the site of the former "Bachelor Officers Quarters " ( BOQ ), now as a Navy Gateway Inns & Suites ( NGI ) is known. NCI, a three-winged tower is the tallest building on the island of Key West. Also to be found at Trumbo Point is a restaurant, bar & lounge, several holiday home villas for active and retired military, a pool and a water park.

The base can be accessed from the civilian sector through the " Trumbo Gate" at the intersection of Palm Avenue and the Peary Court Road.
